Lesson 19 – Painting Horse Standing

When I was in kindergarten all my friends would line up to have me draw them horses so they could color them.

The reason I think they liked my horse drawings was because my dad had taught me a couple tricks that most kindergarteners never knew.

He showed me how to make the belly curved instead of straight, how to add the point of the hock on the back leg, and how to make the big cheek and curved chin.

These tips made my horse drawings more advanced than my peers drawings.

In this Painting Horse Standing lesson, you will learn some horse anatomy and further “tricks” I use to make my horses seem more lifelike.

Happy Painting!
